Job summary

Conway Regional Health System is seeking a Patient Care Tech to provide supportive patient care, assist with daily personal needs, and help with equipment under the direction of the health care team.

This safety sensitive position requires a high school diploma, basic keyboarding skills, and preferred clinical experience or CNA. Credentials like BLS, POCT orientation, and Crisis Prevention must be completed within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic keyboarding skills preferred.
• Clinical experience or CNA preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers required or current.
• Point of Care Testing Equipment Orientation required.
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention/SAFE within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, nutrition, elimination and skin care.
• Assist with use of equipment and other delegated clinical tasks.
• Provide support functions within the scope of unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to support department goals.

Overview

The Patient Care Tech will assume responsibility and accountability for providing support services to ensure continuity of care and help to meet the department goals as directed by the health care team. The Patient Care Tech will perform patient care activities in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. They will assist patients with personal hygiene, nutrition, elimination, skin care, use of equipment and other clinical and administrative tasks which are delegated and assigned. The Patient Care Tech will perform delegated support functions and patient care duties that are within the scope of practice for unlicensed assistive personnel. The Patient Care Tech will demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through effective collaboration efforts.

SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION

This position is a designated as “Safety Sensitive Position” under Act 593 of the State of Arkansas. An employee who is under the influence of Marijuana constitutes a threat to Patients/customers which Conway Regional is responsible for in providing and supporting the delivery health care related services.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent or higher education
Basic keyboarding skills, preferred
Clinical experience or CNA preferred
Prior to independence from preceptor successful completion of:
American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers, training included
Point of Care Testing Equipment Orientation
Crisis Prevention and Intervention/SAFE in 90 days
