Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the patient care team by providing basic care, monitoring patients, and assisting with coordination on the unit. The role emphasizes teamwork, clear communication, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• CNA certification required or equivalent state credential.
• BLS certification required for healthcare providers.
• Basic computer literacy required for documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills expected.
• CNA program completion within the last 1 year may be required in some cases.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care (toileting, bathing, linen changes) and respond to patient/family requests.
• Document patient data and care findings promptly.
• Monitor patient condition and escalate changes as needed.
• Assist with telemetry duties and coordinate with RN and care team.
• Transport medications and collaborate with interdisciplinary team.
• May assume Health Unit Coordinator responsibilities (phones, orders, unit records).
• Assist with plan of care and adhere to scope of practice.
• Perform specialized procedures with appropriate validation and regulatory compliance.
