Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Health Care Technician to support licensed nursing staff in caring for patients in Florida. Under RN supervision, the HCT handles personal care and hygiene tasks, communicates across departments, and acts as a unit liaison.

Knowledge of vital signs, accuchecks, and patient safety is essential, with experience as a CNA and completion of Carle's HCT In Training Program. This position emphasizes teamwork and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience as CNA or nursing clinical training within the last 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist with unit supplies: stocking, cleaning instruments, ordering supplies, making charts.
• Collect patient data and ensure accurate documentation.
• Demonstrate competency in vital signs, glucose monitoring, intake/output.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Prepare patients for transportation and assist with transport.
• Float to inpatient units to provide direct patient care (vital signs, accuchecks, specimens, hygiene, feeding).
• Remove peripheral IV lines, Foley catheters, and A-lines where applicable.
• Provide 1:1 bedside care as a sitter.
• Manage Video Remote Sitter with AvaSure and troubleshoot when down.
