Job summary

Anderson Hospital in Staunton, IL seeks a Patient Care Technician to assist with basic patient care under the guidance of Registered Nurses. You will greet and transport patients, record vitals, and help with bedside procedures while maintaining a safe, respectful environment.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, ekgs, catheter placement, and supporting staff across departments. Must have a high school diploma and BLS; EMT/CNA experience preferred. Flexible scheduling may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic patient care under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, including vitals and bedside tasks.
• Perform phlebotomy, ECGs, catheter placement and other patient care duties as assigned.
• Transport patients, greet and register, and assist with admissions and transitions.
• Maintain clean patient rooms and unit environment, restock supplies, and monitor equipment.
• Complete documentation accurately and timely per hospital policies and procedures.

Job Summary:Performs basic duties of patient care under the guidance and direction of the Registered Nurse. Performs various housekeeping to maintain a clean and orderly environment, monitors department inventory and restocks supplies. Performs clerical duties as assigned. Assists with comfort and safety of patients. Takes and records vital signs, height, weight, intake and output of patients. Greets, registers and transports patients. Assists the physicians and nurses with bedside procedures.Job ResponsibilitiesUses effective communication skills with patients, staff, other departments, physicians, families and visitors.Provides age-appropriate and population specific patient care in a safe, skillful, accurate and efficient manner to newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.Duties may include but not limited to phlebotomy, transporting patients, obtain vital signs, ekg’s, splinting, catheter placement and other patient care task as assigned.Supports patient’s rights and responsibilities, including respect of cultural and religious diversity.Maintains the patient’s environment to include appropriate equipment and supplies at all times.Demonstrates appropriate use of equipment.
