Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide nursing assistance and patient care focused on comfort, safety and personal needs. You will assist with activities of daily living and hygiene, operating within a unit-based, self-directed team with licensed and non-licensed staff.

The role requires BLS, Georgia CNA registry, CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), and CCMA (NHA) certifications, plus at least one year of direct patient care experience in acute settings.

Qualifications

• Must have BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant registered in Georgia.
• Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) accreditation required.
• Registered Medical Assistant (AMT) accreditation required.
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA) accreditation required.
• Minimum of one year of direct patient care experience as CNA, PCT, or equivalent.
• Visual color acuity may be required in some units.

The Patient Care Technician provides nursing assistance and patient care to provide for the comfort, safety and personal needs of patients. Assists patients with activities of daily living and performs procedures for physical hygiene and comfort of patients. Performs duties with the construct of a unit-based, self-directed patient care team while sharing various tasks with other licensed and non-licensed members.

Required

• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Certified Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry
• Certified Medical Assistant awarded by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
• Registered Medical Assistant awarded by the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant awarded by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
• One (1) year of patient care experience, as a CNA, PCT, Military Medic, ED Tech or other relevant acute, direct patient care experience.

Preferred

• Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
