Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA is seeking a Patient Care Technician for a full-time day shift. The role provides patient care under the supervision of a professional nurse, supports admissions and discharges, and ensures safety in a 12-hour shift with rotating weekends/holidays.

Must have a HS Diploma and either CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or related certification; current clinical student status or prior PCT hospital experience is strongly preferred.

Provide patient care, support the admissions and discharge process, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse. Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any change to the nursing.EducationCertification/LicensureMust have a HS Diploma and one of the following:Sentara Care Partner Certification ProgramSuccessful completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT), completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School, Emergency Services to include EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT and ParamedicCurrent student enrolled in a clinical program having completed at least one semester of a (RN, LPN, RT or PT)Current work experience within last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant.Experience1 year of Hospital Exp.
