Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks a dedicated Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care. The role focuses on safe, validated tasks and close collaboration with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities include monitoring vitals, assisting with hygiene, rounding, and reporting changes promptly. Candidates should have a High School Diploma and CPR/BLS certification, with CNA or nursing coursework as a plus.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 1 year acute care inpatient hospital experience in the role preferred or CNA certificate or nursing fundamentals experience.
• Licenses: BLS CPR required with validation within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of nursing staff with validated training.
• Monitor and document patient data ( intake/output, weight, vitals) and report deviations to the nurse.
• Perform patient rounding and communicate changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Attend to basic hygiene care and mobility needs following unit standards.
• Transport patients per policy and ensure safety for age-specific needs.
• Assist with service recovery and escalate concerns as needed.
