Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to assist with professional nursing care for SIH patients. The role focuses on direct patient care, vital signs, basic hygiene, and reporting changes to nurses.

Completion of Illinois approved CNA training and BLS is required. Ideal candidates will participate in documentation, collaborate with care teams, and be willing to cross-train as needed to support telemetry or other department needs.

Qualifications

• Illinois approved CNA training program required.
• Completion of nursing arts course (e.g., Basis in Nursing, Fundamentals in Nursing, Nursing 101).
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff with patient care activities such as obtaining vital signs, intake and output, bathing, feeding, toileting, etc.
• Assists in medical emergencies, including CPR.
• Complete, accurate and timely documentation in patient medical record.
• Timely communication of changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Timely completion of delegated tasks from Registered Nurse.
• Serve as an advocate for the patient by communicating and collaborating with other health service personnel.
• Timely completion of required education and competencies.
• Cross train to telemetry tech if applicable to department needs.

Compensation

(Commensurate with experience): $19.02 To $28.53
