Job summary

USPI Arizona Specialty Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Tech Full Time to assist surgical inpatients with daily living activities under the supervision of a RN. You will support in pre-op/PACU needs and help maintain a safe, clean environment.

Experience with medical charts or clinical tasks is helpful; venipuncture and EKG skills are a plus. We offer health benefits, a 401(k) plan, PTO and paid holidays.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for helping our surgical patients through their inpatient stay, providing basic care needs, under the direction of a RN.
• Other general duties as needed by the Manager of the Pre-Op/PACU.
• Medical Assistant or clinical training preferred
• Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories
• Patient Interviewing skills
• Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols
• Knowledge of patient evaluation procedures
• Ability to perform routine invasive procedures, such as venipuncture, and EKG
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
• Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation

The Patient Care Tech is responsible to assist patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
