Job summary

OU Health's OU Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Support Assistant (Level I‑III) to join the Adult Float team. Under RN supervision, you will perform routine patient care and support the care plan.

Responsibilities include monitoring vitals, assisting with procedures, preparing rooms, transporting patients, and helping with admissions and discharges while maintaining a safe environment. BLS certification is required on hire.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
• Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to maintain effective working relations with others.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient health status under RN supervision and implement the plan of care.
• Carry out physician and nursing orders within scope as directed by the RN.
• Take and record blood pressures, temperatures, pulse and weights.
• Perform blood glucose monitoring and telemetry setup as needed.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers and transport patients as required.
• Keep patient rooms clean, restock supplies, and provide safety when needed.
