Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Unit Assistant to provide clerical and clinical support on the unit. The role includes maintaining patient records, supplies, and acting as a communications facilitator while following defined patient care guidelines.

The position supports care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients under the supervision of licensed staff, with emphasis on safety, teamwork, and efficient unit operation within NGHS standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or high school transcript showing completion of at least the sophomore level of high school.
• Two years minimum experience as a nursing assistant, patient care technician, or unit assistant.
• Experience working with clinical teams and hospital workflows is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and reports basic patient physiological data (vital signs, weight, etc).
• Provides patient care under supervision of a RN.
• Maintains patient records and unit supplies.
• Operates EMR and documents patient information accurately.
• Communicates needs to patients and families clearly and compassionately.
