Qualifications

• No degree is required; on-the-job training is provided.
• BLS certifications are required or in progress at hire.
• Performs basic patient care tasks and vital signs monitoring.
• EKG and phlebotomy competencies must be completed within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Assists with transporting patients as needed.
• Monitors patient status and reports changes to nursing staff.
• Performs basic patient care activities under RN supervision (eg, vital signs, phlebotomy, EKG, intake/output).
• Maintains clean, stocked patient rooms and areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
