Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Nursing Unit Leader to oversee patient care delivery and supervise nursing staff in a designated unit. The role requires RN licensure in Michigan, a BSN or progress toward one, and a track record of leadership, with at least three years of relevant experience.

The incumbent will ensure high-quality care plans, coordinate resources, and act as a clinical resource to physicians and team members, promoting evidence-based practice across the unit.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice nursing in Michigan.
• BSN or enrollment in BSN program to be completed within 2 years.
• A minimum of 3 years job-related experience.
• A minimum of 2 years demonstrated leadership performance.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related health care field.

Responsibilities

• Administration and management of services and personnel in assigned nursing unit(s).
• Oversee the nursing plan of care for patients within the assigned unit and ensure the plan meets physiological and emotional needs of patients served.
• Direct patient care through performance and/or leadership of patient care team members and patient care management staff.
• Assist in the coordination of patient care through appropriate utilization of resources: staff, equipment, supplies, etc.
• As an expert to manage the assigned specialty, act as a resource to both the medical center staff and physicians.
