Job summary

Bayhealth Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care RN for Medical Infusion at the Kent Campus, with float to Milford. This full-time position offers 80 hours per pay period and shifts include Day and Evening.

The role provides professional nursing care in an acute setting, with a focus on quality, safety, and patient education. Bayhealth offers competitive salary and comprehensive benefits to eligible positions.

Qualifications

  • Education must be an Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma.
  • Credentials include RN and Basic Life Support.
  • Experience: No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, professional nursing care to patients in the acute care setting.
  • Develop a patient-centered plan of care based on individual needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of the patient medical record.
  • Counsel and educate patients and care partners on treatment plans.
  • Administer medications following the five rights of medication administration.
  • Provide wound care and dressing changes as applicable.
  • Read and interpret patient information to inform treatment decisions.
  • Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions.
  • Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Observe and record patient responses to nursing interventions.
  • Demonstrate quality, safe, and effective patient care.
  • Delegate tasks to unlicensed assistive staff and LPNs.
  • Adhere to core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity.
  • Contribute to quality and performance improvement plans (RN evaluation).
  • Participate in ethical decision-making as required (RN evaluation).
  • Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within scope.

SALARY RANGE: 37.98 + BOE, HOURLY
General Summary:

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within a assigned unit with a commitment to quality and safety. Professional nursing practices, requiring specialized knowledge judgment and skill are performed using the process in accordance with hospital policy, procedures and nursing philosophy.

Responsibilities:
  1. 1. Provide direct, professional nursing care to specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
  2. 2. Develops a patient centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
  3. 3. Maintains confidentiality of the patient medical record.
  4. 4. Counsel and educate patients and their care partner on treatment plans.
  5. 5. Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
  6. 6. Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
  7. 7. Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions, when appropriate.
  8. 8. Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions when appropriate

  11. 11. Demonstrates quality, safe and effective patient care.
  12. 12. Provides delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff
  13. 13. Demonstrates standards of excellence which includes practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity.
  14. 14. Demonstrates understanding and executes quality and performance improvement plans. (only for RN evaluation)
  15. 15. Participates in decision making and takes actions based on ethical principles. (only for RN evaluation)
  16. 16. Provides timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
  17. 17. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:
  • Education: Associate Degree; Nursing; Or Nursing Diploma.
  • Credential(s): Registered Nurse, Basic Life Support
  • Experience: None
Preferred Education, Credential(s) and Experience:
  • Credential(s): Certification related to the position, if applicable.
  • Experience:Experience in relevant specialty.
