Job summary

Bayhealth Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care RN for the 4A Acuity Adaptable/IMC on the Night shift at the Kent Campus in Dover, DE. This full-time role offers 72 hours per pay period and a salary range of 37.98–58.87 per hour with comprehensive benefits.

The RN provides professional nursing care, develops individualized care plans, administers medications, and collaborates with physicians to determine best treatments while maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma.
• Credential: Registered Nurse and Basic Life Support; ACLS/PALS may be required.
• Experience: None required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, professional nursing care to patients in the acute care setting.
• Develop a patient-centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient medical records.
• Counsel and educate patients and care partners on treatment plans.
• Administer medications following the five rights of administration.
• Provide wound care and dressing changes as applicable.
• Read and interpret patient information and assist in treatment decisions.
• Consult with physicians to decide best treatment options.
• Perform nursing interventions to optimize patient outcomes.
• Observe and record patient responses to nursing interventions.
• Demonstrate quality, safe and effective patient care.
• Delegate to unlicensed assistive staff and LPN staff.
• Adhere to core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity.

SALARY RANGE:37.98 - 58.87 HOURLY

General Summary:

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within a assigned unit with a commitment to quality and safety. Professional nursing practices, requiring specialized knowledge judgment and skill are performed using the process in accordance with hospital policy, procedures and nursing philosophy.

Responsibilities:

• 1. Provide direct, professional nursing care to specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
• 2. Develops a patient centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
• 3. Maintains confidentiality of the patient medical record.
• 4. Counsel and educate patients and their care partner on treatment plans.
• 5. Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
• 6. Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
• 7. Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions, when appropriate.
• 8. Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions when appropriate
• 9. Performs nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• 10. Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
• 11. Demonstrates quality, safe and effective patient care.
• 12. Provides delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff
• 13. Demonstrates standards of excellence which includes practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity.
• 14. Demonstrates understanding and executes quality and performance improvement plans. (only for RN evaluation)
• 15. Participates in decision making and takes actions based on ethical principles. (only for RN evaluation)
• 16. Provides timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
• 17. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.

Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

• Education: Associate DegreeNursing Or Nursing Diploma.
• Credential(s): Registered Nurse, Basic Life Support *ACLS / PALS may be required per manager’s direction and timeframe*Commit to seeking specialty certification within time frame as indicated during interview
