Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Referral Coordinator to provide world‑class service by processing referrals for medical goods and services and confirming patient information.

You will contact patients, liaise with vendor partners and claims adjusters, and ensure referrals are medically necessary and properly billed, while meeting regulatory guidelines. This role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work within a team to support quality programs and timely referrals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two (2) years of healthcare network and patient care scheduling experience or equivalent.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• Self-Starter.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• PC literate, including Microsoft Office products.
• Analytical and interpretive skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create and complete comprehensive, accurate and constructive written reports.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies.

Responsibilities

• Reaches out to patients regarding new or processing referrals, confirming demographics, providing updates, and confirming delivery of goods or services.
• Communicates with vendor partners, claims adjusters and nurse case managers providing updates on referrals.
• Procures vendor partners for each referral as it relates to the goods or services requested.
• Makes or takes calls on existing or new referrals or other team members’ referrals.
• Provides quotes to clients for approval and secures written approval ensuring referrals are medically necessary and approved by adjusters.
• Ensures required billing information exists and moves referrals to billing each day.
• Processes referrals per state regulations and workers' compensation guidelines.
