Job summary

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of related clinical experience; AHA BLS for Healthcare Professionals required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; certified nursing assistant course; 1 year unit clerk experience in an acute care setting.
• Knowledge of basic patient/resident care skills; fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the interprofessional team to deliver patient care under a licensed nurse.
• Delivers care with attention to age-specific needs.
• Contributes to unit functions and coordinates communication; manages medical records.
• Maintains patient data through transcription, order entry and documentation.
• Manages equipment, supplies and department resources efficiently.
• Under supervision, demonstrates higher-level competencies (ECG, Lift Team, Integrative Therapy, OB Tech, mother/baby care, orthopedic tech, or other).
• Greets and assists customers by phone and in person; answers calls and directs inquiries; ensures timely responses.
• Prepares room setup for admissions, documents patient belongings, and manages transfers.
• Provides patient care within scope; documents daily care; follows telemetry processes as required.
• Follows safety and universal precautions; ensures patient safety and reports hazards.
