Job summary

Sharp is hiring a nursing assistant/unit clerk to support patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse in a fast-paced unit.

Responsibilities include coordinating communication, managing medical records, transcription and order entry, and ensuring efficient use of equipment and supplies. The role requires at least six months of clinical experience and BLS certification, with additional competency options such as EKG or OB Tech.

Qualifications

• Six months of related clinical experience.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) is REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the interprofessional team in the delivery of quality patient/resident care under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Functions as the coordinator of communication for the unit and manages medical records, transcription, orders entry and documentation.
• Supports best use of resources in management of equipment, supplies, and other department resources.
• Under supervision, performs at least one higher level competency from the following: EKG, Lift Team/Mobilization, Integrative Therapy, OB Tech.
• Greets and makes welcome a variety of customers by telephone and in-person; obtains information from visitors, directs as appropriate or takes messages.
• Answers call lights and phones promptly, coordinates with physicians and department team members.
