Job summary

The MetroHealth System is seeking a Nurse Assistant (STNA) for the Acute Care Adult Trauma Step Down Unit, 5 East, at MetroHealth Main Campus in Cleveland. This role supports patient care on a 34-bed unit, focusing on trauma care, wound care, and psychosocial support.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, a current STNA certification where applicable, and BLS certification with the ability to work well in a team. PRISM and Daisy awards reflect a high-performing unit.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a team with good judgment, flexibility, initiative and problem-solving.
• Current AHA BLS for healthcare provider or within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide vital signs monitoring and trauma care assistance.
• Answer call lights and assist patients as needed.
• Time management and critical thinking to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced unit.
• Collaborate with LPNs, RNs, nurse interns and other care team members.

SHIFT: D/N-0700-1530, 0700-1930, 1900-0730, 2300-0730

• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Registered in good standing as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Nurse Aide Registry (NOTE: Maintaining ODH Registry status as a STNA is optional after employment in this position).
• 1 year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital.
