Job summary

University Hospitals in Ohio seeks a Patient Care Nursing Assistant (PCNA) to perform basic patient care tasks under the direction of an RN. You will assist with ADLs, vital signs, I&O, and other delegated activities, while maintaining patient records and facilitating unit operations.

Job description

• The Patient Care Nursing Assistant (PCNA) completes patient care activities and provides clerical support as delegated by the RN.
• PCNAs perform duties including, but not limited to: ADLs, vital signs, I&O, 12-lead ECG, bladder scan, hygiene, and venipuncture (where applicable).
• Familiarity with using: Wheelchair, EKG equipment, patient assistive devices, and patient care equipment specific to assigned population.
• Assists with patient data collection and reporting.
• Maintains the patient record (in written and/or electronic format).
• Facilitates communication and efficient unit operations.
• Orients newly hired PCNAs.
