University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a Patient Care Nursing Assistant (PCNA) to support RNs by performing essential patient care tasks and clerical duties. Responsibilities include ADLs, vital signs, I&O, ECG, hygiene, and assisting with data collection and documentation.
You will help maintain a safe environment, facilitate unit operations, and participate in onboarding and training new staff while adhering to PHI privacy and hospital policies.
The Patient Care Nursing Assistant (PCNA) completes patient care activities and provides clerical support as delegated by the RN. PCNAs perform duties including, but not limited to: ADLs, vital signs, I&O, 12-lead ECG, bladder scan, hygiene, and venipuncture (where applicable). Familiarity with using: Wheelchair, EKG equipment, patient assistive devices, and patient care equipment specific to assigned population. Assists with patient data collection and reporting. Maintains the patient record (in written and/or electronic format). Facilitates communication and efficient unit operations. Orients newly hired PCNAs.
