Job summary

Highmark Health in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care within a team-based clinical setting. You will assist in coordinating examination, treatment and care planning, and you will prepare exam rooms, document patient information, and perform vital signs and screenings as part of standardized workflows.

You will back up clerical tasks, perform lab checks and help with procedures under supervision, with potential travel between physician office locations.

Qualifications

• High School / GED or completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Certification within 120 days of hire if required.
• Preferred: Associate's Degree.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate examination, treatment and care planning under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients, obtain vital signs, document patient history and screenings.
• Assist with lab controls, back-office testing and EHR documentation.
• Assist providers during exams and procedures; may serve as a scribe with training.
• Maintain inventory and prepare exam rooms; ensure supplies and policies are followed.
