The Miriam Hospital is seeking a Clinical Equipment Technician (PCE Tech) to clean, disinfect, and deliver medical equipment and supplies. You will help with record keeping and re-ordering for the department, and support safety and infection control policies at Brown University Health’s Providence, RI location.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with at least six months of on-the-job training or equivalent experience.
• Ability to use Windows-based maintenance management software to enter and retrieve service records.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills for independent and collaborative work.
• Problem-solving, prioritization, and time management in a fast-paced hospital setting.
• Customer service skills to handle vendor and patient requests.

Responsabilités

• Delivers clean disinfected medical equipment, accessories and supplies as requested by the clinical units.
• Confirm basic operations of portable equipment to ensure working order and to ensure appropriate repairs are made.
• Cleans and disinfects returned equipment and accessories according to established policy.
• Perform daily rounds to ensure rotation and adequate supply of portable equipment and oxygen cylinders are distributed to clinical areas.
• Document all PCE activities in the Equipment Management system.
• Maintain the code cart exchange program including rotation of supplies, replenishment of cart supplies, and documentation in Maximo post event.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all Patient Care Equipment storage rooms.
• Collaborate to expedite discharges by delivering durable medical equipment to patients in a timely manner.
• Communicate equipment problems beyond the scope of departmental resolve to Supervisor or Medical Engineering personnel.
• Remove malfunctioning equipment from service and coordinate with Medical Engineering for repair.
