Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian is seeking a Patient Care Director – RN for the ICU at Brooklyn Methodist Hospital to lead and manage patient care delivery on the unit, drive daily operations, and promote a culture of safety and quality.

The ideal candidate will hold an NY RN license, have at least 3 years of acute care ICU experience, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing; a Master’s in Nursing is preferred and should be completed within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Nursing required.
• Master's in Nursing preferred (must be completed within 1 year of hire if pursuing).
• 3+ years of acute care RN ICU experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assume first line leadership responsibility for managing patient care on the unit.
• Facilitate efficient daily operations related to patient throughput including admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Promote a culture of safety and quality by ensuring adherence to established standards and protocols.
• Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to establish unit goals aligned with hospital strategic objectives.
• Monitor staff compliance with regulatory, hospital, and divisional requirements.

What You’ll Do

Requirements

Education:

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current New York State RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
