Job summary

Cataract & Laser Institute is seeking a compassionate Surgical Scheduler to guide patients through education, scheduling, financing, and post-operative communication.

You will educate patients on procedures and lens options, coordinate procedures, and support accurate documentation while maintaining a patient-centered approach.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to explain information clearly and compassionately.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in a fast-paced medical environment preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with patients regarding pre-operative and post-operative care and scheduling.
  • Educate patients on surgical procedures, lens options, and treatment plans.
  • Explain financing options and assist patients with applications such as CareCredit when needed.
  • Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures accurately and efficiently.
  • Review surgical instructions, paperwork, and consent forms with patients.
  • Collect applicable patient payments and ensure documentation is completed properly.
  • Prepare and organize surgical charts and required paperwork for surgery centers and hospitals.
  • Scan and maintain accurate patient records and surgical documentation.
  • Perform preliminary testing and assist in counseling patients regarding lens options.
  • Deliver a compassionate, professional, and reassuring patient experience.

What You’ll Do

As a Surgical Scheduler, you’ll help ensure patients feel educated, prepared, and supported throughout the surgical process.
