Job Description:
The Hearing Care Coordinator (HCC) works closely with the clinical staff to ensure patients receive quality care and service. The HCC schedules appointments, verifies insurance benefits, and assists patients and referring physicians with support needs within the clinic.
As a Hearing Care Coordinator, you will:
- Greet patients with a positive and professional attitude
- Place outbound calls to current and former patients for scheduling follow‑up hearing tests, consultations, and weekly evaluations
- Collect patient intake forms and maintain patient files/notes
- Schedule/confirm patient appointments
- Complete benefit checks and authorization for each patient’s insurance
- Provide first‑level support to patients, answer questions, check patients in/out, and process payments
- Process repairs under the direct supervision of a licensed Hearing Care Professional
- Prepare bank deposits and submit daily reports to finance
- Apply general sales knowledge for accessories and patient support
- Process patient orders, receive and verify pick‑ups, input information into the system
- Clean and maintain equipment and instruments
- Submit equipment and facility requests
- Perform general office duties, including cleaning
- Manage inventory, order/monitor stock, and submit supply orders as needed
- Assist with event planning and logistics for at least one community outreach event per month
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s degree preferred
Industry/Product Knowledge Required:
- Prior experience/knowledge with hearing aids is a plus
Skills/Abilities:
- Professional verbal and written communication
- Strong relationship building skills with patients, physicians, and clinical staff
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
- EMR/EHR experience a plus
Work Experience:
- 2+ years in a health care environment preferred
- Previous customer service experience required
