Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to provide organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units. The role involves monitoring supplies, ordering, and coordinating communications with patients and staff.

You will assist with transcribing orders to the EMR and other devices, collaborate with the care team, and participate in continuous improvement. Flexible hours including days/evenings/nights/weekends are required for this part-time position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of college, HUC vocational program, or HUC Certification preferred.
• Outstanding customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Adapts effectively to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Basic knowledge of computer systems and strong keyboarding skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units.
• Monitor and order supplies and may transcribe orders to the EMR.
• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff across care teams.
• Serve as a resource to Mayo Clinic resources and support continuous improvement.
• Assist the healthcare team by anticipating requests and patient needs.
