Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) to provide organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units in Minnesota. The role includes monitoring supplies, transcription to the EMR, and effective communication with patients, visitors, and staff across the care continuum.

Strong customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills are essential. Flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, are required to meet staffing needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preference for HUC vocational program or HUC Certification.
  • Outstanding customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • adapts to unpredictable situations within patient care settings.
  • Availability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems and strong keyboarding skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units.
  • Monitor and order supplies and transcribe orders to the EMR and other devices.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and facility staff across care continuum.
  • Serve as a resource to healthcare team and participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Anticipate and respond to team requests and patient needs.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
