Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years of experience using computers with multiple applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • 1+ years of experience in a medical office performing scheduling, check-in/out, insurance verification, and medical records maintenance.
  • Must be able to travel to both Everett and Arlington locations with a valid WA driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and guide them on phone or in person.
  • Collect and verify patient information including insurance details.
  • Verify insurance on date of service.
  • Answer calls promptly and route messages as needed.
  • Maintain organized queue and complete pending actions like eligibility checks.
  • Obtain patient signatures for documents.
  • Upload state IDs and insurance cards to patient records.
  • Schedule and coordinate all patient appointments as directed.
  • Keep workspace clean and organized; handle documentation for patient care.
  • Meet or exceed the Practice Management performance measures.

The Patient Care Coordinator Float functions as an integral member of the team and is the first point of contact for all people inquiring about the provider's practice. The primary role is to organize the practice's daily activities and paperwork. Patient Care Coordinator Float is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals.

Working Hours

A 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:30 am to 7:00 pm, occasional weekend support Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. (schedule is provided a month in advance)

Primary Responsibilities
  • Greet customers into practice and provide instruction and/or direction as necessary both on the phone and in person
  • Obtain accurate and updated patient information, such as name, address, insurance information
  • Perform insurance verification on the date of service
  • Follow the payment Security policy and procedures according to Optum Medical guidelines
  • Answers incoming phone calls in a courteous and prompt manner; directs calls and takes messages
  • Ability to maintain a work queue list- complete any pending actions ie insurance eligibility
  • Obtain patient signatures for required documents
  • Upload a valid Government issued state ID of patient and patient insurance cards
  • Schedule and coordinate all patient appointments as directed
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area, free of clutter
  • Prepare all documentation and records with accuracy as directed or necessary for the patient's care
  • Meet or exceed the performance measures established by the Practice Management Dept.
  • Follow established policy and procedures related to the position
  • Participate and contribute to a team-based environment
  • Maintain a team supportive attendance record
  • Understand and deliver quality customer service that is consistent with Optum's efforts in becoming a High-Performance Organization
  • Follow OSHA/WISHA (including usage of PPE) guidelines
  • Follow HIPAA regulations
  • Adapt and perform effectively in a continuously changing environment, and in occasional difficult situations
  • Ability to cover other offices as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+ years of experience computer proficiency (multi-task through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • 1+ years of experience working in a medical office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, and maintaining medical records
  • Ability to travel to both locations 3927 Rucker Ave. Walk-in Clinic\Urgent or second or Third Floor Care, Everett, WA 98201 or 4011 172 Street NE, Arlington WA with a current and non-restricted state of Washington Driver's License and State-required insurance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience taking inbound and outbound calls
  • 1+ years of experience working knowledge of Epic EMR software

Pay

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The hourly pay for this role will range from $18.00 to $32.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
