Job description

The Nursing/Patient Care Coordinator reports to the V.P. of Nursing. It is this individual’s responsibility to assure that holistic patient care is delivered, which is in compliance with standards of professional nursing practice in a safe, respectful, individualized manner.

It is the Patient Care Coordinator’s responsibility to:

  • Leads and support change through role modeling behavior.
  • Creates a work environment that encourages and supports creativity and innovation.
  • Identifies and keeps up to date on key national and international policies and economic, political, and social trends that affect healthcare.
  • Adapts behavior and work methods in response to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles.
  • Adjusts rapidly to new situations warranting attention and resolution whether it is patient, guest, or staff related.
  • Deals effectively with pressure; maintains focus and intensity while remaining optimistic and persistent, even under adverse conditions.
  • Effectively balances personal life and work.
  • Enables those they supervise to acquire the tools, experience, knowledge, support, and mentoring they need to perform well.
  • Identifies and takes steps to prevent potential situations that could result in unpleasant confrontations through effective conflict resolution.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, 2 years acute hospital experience preferred. Current State of Illinois registered nurse license, current CPR certification; ACLS; PALS; NRP; TNS OR TNCC; ECRN and any other certification appropriate to specialty required.
