Job summary

Frontier Veterinary Hospital in Hillsboro, Oregon, is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to guide clients from check-in to check-out and serve as a vital link between clients and the medical team, capturing medical notes and coordinating care.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Setting the Stage for a Great Visit: contact clients before appointments to set expectations and prepare them for visits.
  • Acting as a Medical Scribe: capture real-time medical information in the exam room and keep records accurate.
  • Creating Treatment Plans: develop, present, and explain treatment plans per veterinarian’s directions.
  • Coordinating Seamless Care: work with the technical team to complete treatment plans and manage in-room check-outs and scheduling.
  • Educating Clients: explain discharge instructions, ensure prescription fulfillment, and address questions.
  • Following Up with Care: conduct post-visit follow-ups to monitor pets’ well-being and test results.

Job Description

Your Impact as a Patient Care Coordinator

As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will be the central point of contact for our clients, guiding them through their entire visit from check-in to check-out. You will serve as a vital link between the client and the medical team, capturing medical notes, creating treatment plans, and coordinating all aspects of patient care to ensure a seamless and supportive experience.

Your Impact Will Include:
  • Setting the Stage for a Great Visit: You'll contact clients before their appointments to set expectations, answer questions, and ensure they are prepared for their visit.

  • Creating Treatment Plans: You'll create, present, and clearly explain treatment plans to clients in accordance with the veterinarian's directions.
  • Coordinating Seamless Care: You will collaborate with the technical team to ensure the veterinarian's treatment plan is completed efficiently and handle all in-room check-outs, including payments and scheduling follow-ups.
  • Educating Clients: You'll clearly explain discharge instructions, ensure prescription fulfillment, and address any client inquiries.
  • Following Up with Care: You will conduct post-visit follow-ups to check on the well-being of pets and communicate any test results.
What You'll Bring to the Team
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A genuine love for animals and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.
  • A friendly, personable, and empathetic demeanor.

  • The pay range for this position is $21-$22 per hour based on experience.
