Schuster Physical Therapy in Boone, NC is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator for our outpatient private practice. You will manage patient intake, insurance verification, scheduling, and communication with patients and providers.

Qualifications

• Three years of administrative/clerical work experience, preferably in healthcare.
• High School Diploma or GED; college education preferred.
• Strong organizational and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Builds genuine relationships with patients and families.
• Reviews charts prior to visits to determine referral or pre-authorization needs.
• Inputs pre-authorization, insurance, and demographic data into EMR.
• Verifies benefits and eligibility before referrals.
• Reminds patients of upcoming appointments and changes to schedule.
• Schedules evaluations, re-evaluations, and treatments.
• Maintains paperwork, inventory, and office duties.
• Adheres to HIPAA guidelines.

Job Overview & Work Site

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

• Builds genuine and authentic relationships with patients
• Builds and reviews charts prior to patient visit to determine need for referral or pre-authorization.
• Obtains and inputs pre-authorization, insurance, and demographic information into our Electronic Medical Records system.
• Verifies patient benefits and eligibility prior to completing referral.
• Reminds patients of upcoming appointments and/or changes to schedule.
• Collects payments and pertinent insurance information.
• Provides patients, family members and referral sources with information pertaining to policies and procedures as well as services provided at SPT.
• Schedules patients for evaluations, re-evaluations and treatments.
• Scans and files paperwork accurately for team success.
• Maintains inventory, orders supplies and performs other office related duties.
• Always adheres to HIPPA guidelines.

Compensation typically ranges from $16-$20/hour, with the opportunity for higher pay based on experience and fit.

What You Need To Be Successful

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required. College education is preferred.
• Three years of work experience in an administrative or clerical position- ideally in a health care setting/ medical office performing relevant clerical activities. (Medical office experience is not a requirement for the right candidate.)
