We are currently looking for a Patient Care Coordinator at our Asheville, NC location.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support at the front desk by answering telephones, taking messages, routing calls or notifying appropriate individuals, printing and posting schedules, checking/sending faxes, assisting with developing/modifying patient appointments, maintaining/reconciling patient information in the computer system, and performing quality control audits of records.
- Coordinate patient communications for scheduling and appointment reminders, financial responsibility discussions, and procurement of medical documentation from referral sources via phone, fax, or email.
- Assist in managing the Work in Process (WIP) daily in collaboration with clinicians and maintain all case documentation in the system in compliance with company best practices.
- Secure insurance authorizations for patient cases, financial responsibilities, and medical documentation requirements.
- Maintain a clean office environment, including coordination of office supplies.
- Handle office petty cash as needed.
- Perform shipping and receiving of products for device procurement and delivery as needed.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks.
- Create and maintain reports as needed.
- Ensure customers receive the best service possible and their concerns are satisfactorily resolved.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proficient in MS Office and databases.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability in critical thinking and problem-solving.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of office administrative management experience, preferably in a medical/dental/therapy office.
- Experience with medical terminology, accounts receivable, insurance collections, or billing is preferred.
- Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid is preferred.
