Allegheny Health Network seeks a dedicated patient care assistant to support professional nursing staff by observing patients and helping ensure a safe environment.

The role emphasizes patient monitoring, communication, and assisting with tests and therapies. Responsibilities include accompanying patients to tests, reporting safety concerns, documenting observations, and pursuing ongoing education. CPR certification and background clearances are required or provided during orientation.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR – American Heart Association required.
• If not already certified at hire, CPR certification and Crisis Management training will be provided during orientation.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Mansioni

• Performs selected patient care activities (accompanies patients to tests, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and provides diversional activities).
• Provides observation to maintain patient safety by physically intervening and immediately communicating the need for additional assistance.
• Demonstrates effective verbal communication skills by communicating pertinent patient data accurately and in a timely fashion.
• Documents on patient behavior/activity according to policy (medical or behavioral health needs).
• Assumes responsibility for own educational development.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
