As a member of the healthcare team, you will be responsible for monitoring patients under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. You will promote a safe and comfortable environment that fosters the physiological and psychosocial well-being of patients. The PCA will assist staff with patient lifting and transfer as requested.
You will notify R.N. and/or L.V.N. of relevant changes in patient condition, including vital signs, level of consciousness, pain, breathing pattern, drainage, bleeding, mood, or changes in capabilities. You will provide ongoing data collection regarding the patient's physiological well-being and share input from patients and families during care plan formulation or revision. Demonstrating awareness of the patient's care plan is essential.
Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Managing Assaultive Behavior Certificate (MAB). Recent experience in an acute setting is preferred. The role requires strong multitasking skills, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and people simultaneously.
