Job Description - PATIENT CARE ASST- 5B-Medical Surgical- 40HR Night Shift (11p-7a) (252429)

Provides direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance of the Registered Nurse. Responsible for implementing components of the care plan based on physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs. Ensures patient comfort, safety, and emergency measures; assists with activities of daily living such as personal care, nutrition, and elimination. Measures vital signs, performs ECGs, and capillary blood glucose tests. Observes and reports the functioning of equipment, treatment outcomes, dressing conditions, and any changes in patient condition. Incorporates the Hospital's Customer Service Program principles into all patient care activities, including confidentiality, responsiveness, and caring. Accountable to the Nurse Manager or designee for all activities and adheres to departmental policies and procedures. If certification is not present at hire, employee must complete the onsite nursing certification program within 90 days.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
Preferred: Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant Program or completion of at least one clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing program.

Experience
1 Year experience in a patient care role (Preferred)

License/Certifications
Required: BLS - Basic Life Support
Preferred: CMA - Certified Medical Assistant, CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant
