Job summary

Mercy offers a Patient Care Associate (PCA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT) role in Med Surg 5E. You assist in individualized patient care under the direction of RN/LPN, collaborating with team members to achieve patient wellness.

Location: Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis, MO. Schedule options include Part-Time (24 hours/week) or Full-Time (36 hours/week) with Day and Night shifts. Training is provided, BLS within 1 month, and sign-on bonuses apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPTC certification, or enrollment in a healthcare career program through high school.
• Experience: No prior experience required.
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs and prolonged standing/walking.

Responsibilities

• Record vital signs and enter data into the electronic medical record.
• Assist patients with daily needs (meals, bathing, toileting, mobility, transportation).
• Provide clerical support as needed.
• For PCT: perform phlebotomy and collect blood cultures; administer enteral feedings; provide wound care; remove IVs and Foley catheters; perform tracheostomy care and suctioning.

Education

High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPTC certification, or enrollment in a healthcare career program through high school.
