Job summary

Mercy South Rehabilitation Hospital in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT) to assist in individualized patient care under the direction of an RN or LPN and to work cooperatively with a team to support patient wellness.

Responsibilities include recording vital signs, helping with meals, mobility and daily activities, performing phlebotomy and wound care, managing IVs and Foley catheters, and providing enteral feedings.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPTC certification, or enrollment in a healthcare career program.
• Experience: No prior experience required.
• Physical requirements: Lift up to 50 lbs, prolonged standing/walking, bend/kneel/twist/squat.

Responsibilities

• Record vital signs and enter data into the EMR.
• Assist patients with meals, bathing, toileting, mobility, and transportation.
• Provide clerical support as needed.
