Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Patient Care Associate to assist in individualized patient care under the supervision of an RN or LPN. The role supports the Medical Telemetry department and requires a high school diploma or GED with BLS certification.

CNA is preferred or you may be enrolled in a healthcare program. The position is part-time (minimum 32 hours per pay period) with 12-hour night shifts (6:30pm–7:00am).

Qualifications

• BLS certification within one month of hire; PCA competencies within 3 months.
• CNA certification preferred or enrolled in a healthcare career program.

Position Details

Patient Care Associate

Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO

Department: Medical Telemetry

Status: Part-Time, minimum of 32 hours/2 week pay period

Shift: 12 Hour Nights (6:30pm - 7:00am)

• Experience: None required. - In the state of practice: If no previous experience, Mercy will provide a required 175-hour training program that meets the state of practice Department of Health and Senior Services requirements. The program will be completed as part of the new hire orientation process and must be completed within 90 days of hire to remain in the PCA position per state guidelines.
• Required Education: High school diploma, G.E.D
• Preferred Education: CNA/CPTC. or enrolled in a healthcare career program through their high school curriculum, and/or a current co-worker of Mercy.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course required within one month of hire. Completion of PCA competencies within 3 months of hire.
• Preferred Certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• Other: Minimum Physical Requirements:
• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
