Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for onsite work at 75 Francis Street in Boston. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, vital signs, and basic patient support during night shifts under licensed personnel guidance.

Eligible new employees may receive a $750 sign-on bonus. Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, basic life support or CMA/CNA licensure preferred, and 0–1 year patient care experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and strong patient service.
• Ability to use electronic medical records efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes/outputs accurately.
• Completes documentation in the medical record as required.
• Interacts with patients and families effectively.
• Assists with bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
• Helps turning and repositioning, assists with transfers to wheelchairs.
• Reports health concerns to nurses promptly.

Job Summary A $750.00 sign on bonus is being offered to eligible new employees hired in our PCA positions.

Summary Working under the direction of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Also assists with taking patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.

Essential Functions

• -Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested.
• -Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.
• -Interacts with patients and their families effectively.
• -Helps patients with a number of basic hygiene tasks. This may include bathing and dressing patients, helping them use the toilet if needed, and feeding them.
• -Assist with helping patients turn and reposition themselves in bed as needed and help them move between the bed and a wheelchair if they use one.
• -Listens to any health concerns patients may have and report those concerns to the nurses.
