Job summary

Mass General Brigham seeks a patient care assistant for night shifts at The Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. You will support licensed staff by aiding patients with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and documenting patient information in the EMR.

A sign-on bonus of $750 is available for eligible new hires. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• BLS certification and CMA/EMT/paramedic credentials preferred.
• Experience in patient care 1–2 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform vital signs, weights/heights, intakes and outputs with accuracy within required time frames.
• Complete documentation in the medical record.
• Interact with patients and families effectively.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility (bathing, dressing, positioning, etc.).
• Report health concerns to nurses and care team.

Job Summary

A $750.00 sign on bonus is being offered to eligible new employees hired in our PCA positions.

Summary Working under the direction of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Also assists with taking patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.

Essential Functions

• Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested.
• Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.
• Interacts with patients and their families effectively.
• Helps patients with a number of basic hygiene tasks. This may include bathing and dressing patients, helping them use the toilet if needed, and feeding them.
• Assist with helping patients turn and reposition themselves in bed as needed and help them move between the bed and a wheelchair if they use one.
• Listens to any health concerns patients may have and report those concerns to the nurses.

• Nursing Assistant [LNA - New Hampshire] - New Hampshire Board of Nursing preferred

Experience

Experience working in patient care/elder care 1-2 years preferred

• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong patient/customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
