Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of a Nurse Assistant Certification program or equivalent.
• Minimum of six (6) months of recent experience as a Nurse Assistant in an acute care setting.
• Completion of phlebotomy course or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs day-to-day patient care activities under RN supervision.
• Maintains an environment conducive to patient well-being.
• Demonstrates unit competencies and interacts with patients respecting development and cultural needs.
• Delivers compassionate support to patients and families.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and health care regulations.

Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities. Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences.

Responsibilities:

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.

Required:

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of a Nurse Assistant Certification program or equivalent
