Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Port Huron, MI, is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support licensed nurses and provide direct and indirect patient care. You will assist with daily activities, monitor patient needs and maintain a safe care environment.

Key responsibilities include supporting admissions and transfers, coordinating with the care team, and participating in department meetings. Full-time schedule is 11:30a-8:00p with on-call duties as required.

Responsibilities

Essential Functionsand Responsibilities:

• Provides for personal care of patients under thesupervision of licensed nursing staff.
• Maintains safe unit environment, supplies and equipmentfor patients and staff to facilitate patient care.
• Performs specific procedure and patient testingaccording to patient plan of care under the supervision of licensed nursingstaff.
• Facilitates admission, discharge and transferprocedures for patients on and off unit.
• Provides for transportation of patients as requested bylicensed nursing staff.
• Contributes to the effective communication and efficientoperation needs of unit.
• Participates in a minimum of fifty (50%) of monthlydepartmental meetings.
• Demonstrates commitment to personal career growth andcompetency.
• Performsother related job duties as requested.
