Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System’s Cherokee Medical Center in Gaffney, SC is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) for the Med Surg unit. This PRN days role supports RNs through basic nursing tasks, patient care, and documentation while ensuring safety and comfort for adults across the age spectrum.

Duties include assisting with ADLs, vital signs, phlebotomy, and environment care; candidates should have a high school diploma, be prepared for hospital work, and pursue ongoing education

Formación

• Education: High School Graduate or equivalent
• 17-year-olds that will obtain a High School Diploma or GED within six months
• Hospital experience preferred
• Graduate Nurse
• Certificate from an approved multi-skilled technician program
• Completion of 1st semester of Nursing Clinicals

Responsabilidades

• Assists patients with activities of daily living in a safe, timely and courteous manner
• Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes and outputs with accuracy
• Documents communication and patient status to registered nurse in a timely manner
• Attends continuing education classes offered at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System
• Hourly rounds and bedside shift reports
• Adheres to proper chain of command
• Performs admissions, discharges, transferring and placing patients
