Job summary

Mercy presents a Patient Care Associate (PCA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT) role in Med Surg 5E at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO. This position offers both part-time and full-time schedules, with day and night shifts available.

Training and apprenticeship pathways are provided, including a 175-hour program if needed. Sign-on bonuses apply for eligible shifts. We seek compassionate individuals with a high school diploma or equivalent, CNA/CPTC, or enrollment in a healthcare program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or CNA/CPTC certification (or enrollment in a healthcare program).
• Mercy coworkers are eligible for consideration.
• No prior healthcare experience required.

Responsibilities

• Record vital signs and enter data into the electronic medical record.
• Assist patients with daily needs (meals, bathing, toileting, mobility, transportation).
• Provide clerical support as needed.
• PCT duties: phlebotomy, blood cultures, enteral feedings, wound care.
• Remove IVs and Foley catheters; perform tracheostomy care and suctioning.
