Memorial Healthcare System in Pembroke Pines, FL, seeks an entry-level patient care assistant to work under an RN providing basic patient care and support. You will assist with vital signs, EKG, phlebotomy, glucose checks and daily living activities, while ensuring patient rooms remain clean and stocked.

Requires no degree, and 3 months of patient care experience or approved training; BLS/CPR is required and competencies in EKG/phlebotomy within 6 months of hire.

Competenze

• No degree required; on-the-job training and CPT/BLS certification may be required.
• Three months of patient care experience or completion of a formal training program are required.
• EKG and phlebotomy competencies must be achieved within six months of hire date.

Summary

Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care and other related technical and clinical support activities.

Responsibilities

Additional duties as assigned.

Assists with keeping patient rooms/areas stocked, clean and orderly.

Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including but not limited to: monitoring vital signs, EKG testing, phlebotomy, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.

Monitors patient status and response; Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.

Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating.

Assist with transporting patients, as needed.
