Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, FL, is seeking a patient care associate to provide basic care under the supervision of an RN. You will assist with ADLs, monitor patients, and help transport as needed during night shifts.

Responsibilities include performing delegated tasks such as vital signs, EKG, phlebotomy, and intake/output recording, while maintaining a clean, stocked patient environment. BLS certifications are required within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• 3 months of patient care experience or completion of a formal training program.
• Basic patient care and activities of daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Must obtain required BLS certifications within hire period.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal care (bathing, grooming, eating).
• Assist with patient transport as needed.
• Monitor patient status and report changes to nursing staff.
• Perform basic patient care activities delegated by an RN (vital signs, phlebotomy, EKG, IS/IO data).
• Maintain clean and stocked patient rooms and areas.

Summary

Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care and other related technical and clinical support activities.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating.
• Assist with transporting patients, as needed.
• Monitors patient status and response; Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Additional duties as assigned.
• Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including but not limited to: monitoring vital signs, EKG testing, phlebotomy, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
• Assists with keeping patient rooms/areas stocked, clean and orderly.
