Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a patient care assistant to support nursing staff in Pembroke Pines, FL. Under an RN's supervision, you will perform basic patient care tasks and related clinical support activities.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, maintaining clean rooms, and performing delegated tasks such as vital signs, EKG, phlebotomy, and glucose monitoring. Required certifications include BLS through AHA and related cards; prior patient care experience is preferred.

Competenze

• No degree required.
• BLS American Heart E-Card or equivalent is required.
• BLS RQI E-Card is required.
• BLS certificate non-electronic card is required.
• Grace period credential for BLS is required.
• Red Cross BLS credential is required.

Summary:

Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care and other related technical and clinical support activities.

Responsibilities:

• Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating.
• Assists with keeping patient rooms/areas stocked, clean and orderly.
• Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including but not limited to: monitoring vital signs, EKG testing, phlebotomy, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
• Additional duties as assigned.
• Monitors patient status and response; Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Assist with transporting patients, as needed.

Additional Job Information:

Required Work Experience: Three (3) months of patient care experience demonstrating the ability to perform basic patient care or certification of completion from formal training program required. Other Information: EKG and phlebotomy competencies are required within six (6) months of hire date.
