Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a clinic setting. You will prepare exam rooms, assist with vital signs, phlebotomy and routine tests, and help with patient documentation and communication with care teams.

The role requires a High school diploma (or equivalent) and Basic Life Support certification with ACLS considerations per role. Experience with EMR systems and maintaining HIPAA standards is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Vocational Diploma in Medical Assistant is preferred or required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; must be obtained within 1 month of hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) may be required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients in clinic and perform routine tasks including vitals and phlebotomy.
• Direct patient flow, complete documentation and requisitions.
• Coordinate communication, scheduling and return calls; assist with admissions.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and assist with equipment sterilization and inventory.
