Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) to join a care team on a patient care unit in Columbus. The PCA supports patient care and services aligned with the plan of care, under the guidance of registered nurses, in a culture of cooperation and mutual respect.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, with preferred prior patient care experience in an acute care setting.

• Strong customer service, organizational and time management skills.

The Patient Care Associate (PCA) functions as an integral member of a team of care providers on a patient care unit, reflect a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The team, consisting of the Registered Nurse, and the Patient Care Associate provides patient care and supportive services that are directed towards achievement of patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient's involvement in his/her own plan of care, improving services levels, and reducing decreasing costs. Patients and their family will experience the benefits of patient focused care through the integrated skills of all care team members.
